The New Wave of British Heavy Metal brought us some great bands like Iron Maiden and Def Leppard. But there was far more to NWOBHM than that. Here are some of the other bands from the era – all great but some you may not have heard of. The late 1970s and early 1980s was the peak period for NWOBHM. Many bands flourished and the whole new wave of British heavy metal movement had such an influence of heavy rock and heavy metal since. Band of the big rock acts of today cite being influenced by NWOBHM with Metallica being just one.
