VLC for Windows 8 is the version of the famous media player designed for Windows 8's metro interface. Just like the desktop version, the app lets you play your multimedia files thanks to extended support for audio and video formats. Perfect for almost all your video files By using VLC for Windows 8, you'll have no problem playing the vast majority of your movies, TV series and music. Basically, the app supports most formats, including OGG, FLAC, MKV, MP3, MP4, WMV and MOV. VLC for Windows 8 is equally at home with external devices and multimedia servers. It happily reads content from USB keys, external hard drives and files served through home servers, for example. Unfortunately, when it comes to options, VLC for Windows 8 is really behind big brother VLC media player. In short, they're few and far between. There's a search engine, to find your content, options to manage subtitles, audio tracks and playback speed. That's it.
