RemoteTwain can improve quality of scanned documents using Image Enhancement settings. It is possible to binarize scanned documents with better quality than it is done with most low end scanners. Also it can automatically detect image colorless and binarize if it is required. RemoteTwain can either smooth paper background or drop it out. This helps for OCR and barcode recognition quality.
